
Mr. Meza has proudly served on the SFDRCISD Board of Trustees since 2007, and is currently serving his third term as the Place IV Trustee Member. Mr. Meza has served in several leadership positions such as Board President and Vice-President, and currently serves on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors representing ESC Region XV.
Mr. Meza’s experience in education includes serving as a kindergarten teacher, a 6th grade teacher a middle school principal, and school board trustee. These experiences, as he states, “have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to promote educational excellence for all Texas children through advocacy, leadership and dedication to serve. As a former educator with thirty-seven years of experience, I continue to be a strong advocate for public education and my experience on the SFDRCISD Board has enabled me to gain insight into important issues impacting our geographic region and the state.”
Mr. Meza also serves the community as past president of the Lion’s Club, president of the United Way organization and has been an elected member of the Val Verde Regional Board of Directors. He is a retired educator, all of his children grown up and living on their own. He and his wife Bertha, a huge supporter, have been married for forty-four years.
Mr. Meza’s current term on the Board will expire in May 2022.
