Scholarships for Texas High Schools!
The application deadlines are Juniors: March 1 and Seniors: Feb 15.

The Horatio Alger Association seeks to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students who have demonstrated integrity, determination in overcoming adversity, academic potential, personal aspirations, strength of character and financial need.

My name is Amanda Heij and I am a Horatio Alger Association Texas Field Director. The only reason most students apply is because a career counselor or one caring adult encouraged them to do so.

Today, I want to encourage you to make an announcement to your qualified students to apply for this year’s Horatio Alger Scholarship.

To JUNIORS: The Association awards $25,000 National Scholarships and $10,000 state scholarships. For 2025, Texas earned 5 National Scholarships and 35 State Scholarships. Deadline March 1st.

To SENIORS: The Association awards $10,000-52,000 Scholarships to those attending specific colleges across the United States (see website for details). Deadline Feb. 15th.

Key criteria for qualification:
1. Enrolled as a full-time high school junior
2. Demonstrate critical financial need (NEW INCOME LEVEL OF $100,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
3. Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
4. At least a 2.0 GPA
5. Be a United States Citizen
