The San Felipe Del Rio CISD Board of Trustees is comprised of seven community members who are elected at‐large for four‐year terms.  The SFDRCISD Board of Trustees functions within the legal parameters of the state and federal constitutions, statutes, courts, and administrative agencies.  The Board is charged with the responsibility of providing the finest educational program possible for the students in the district.  Trustees adopt a budget which is necessary to maintain and operate the schools, levy taxes to support the budget http://www.sfdr-cisd.org/departments/school-finance/financial-transparency/ and submit bond issues to the citizens of the district to finance construction projects.

School Board elections will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, for the following positions:
     - Place I      Currently held by Kenneth Smith
     - Place III   Currently held by Cecilia Martinez‐Lozano
     - Place IV    Currently held by Raymond Meza
     - Place V     Currently held by Roberto Chavira

The Candidate filing period for the May 5, 2018 San Felipe Rio CISD School Board of Trustee Election begins Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 8:00 a.m., and the last day to file a completed application is Friday, February 16, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.  Candidate applications are available electronically as well as in hard copy at the SFDRCISD Student Performance and Administration Building. 

To be eligible for, or elected or appointed to, the office of Trustee, a person must meet the eligibility requirements identified in accordance with Board Policy BBA(LEGAL).  The location to file the applications is at the SFDRCISD Student Performance and Administration Building located at 315 Griner St.  All Applications must be signed and notarized, clearly marked with the specific place for which the applicant is a candidate (Place I, III, IV, or V).    

SFDRCISD duties are limited to accepting and filing the various applications, affidavits, and statements, and noting the date and time of filing.  It is the duty of the candidate to become familiar with the laws applicable to campaigns for office.
