CTE HVAC Students Network
CTE HVAC Students NetworkSenior students in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) - HVAC 3 class had an opportunity to network with one of their CTE Advisory Members, Mr. Juan Lopez, Jr., from Amistad Heating and Air Conditioning. He brought several large commercial AC units to the CTE Center so students could practice their trade. Students practiced recovering the refrigerant, troubleshooting, working on low-voltage switches, and pressuring the system with nitrogen. The HVAC program is one of six trade and industry programs housed at the Gerardo J. Maldonado CTE Center. The HVAC program offers students practical experience, the ability to earn a Level 1 Certification from Southwest Texas Junior College and their EPA 608 industry certification.
