Del Rio High School is expanding higher education opportunities for students with the start of P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School). Through a partnership with Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC), students who enter DRHS P-TECH will have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and various college credit hours leading up to an Associate degree in one of three distinct areas: Radiologic Technology, Nursing, or Teaching.
DRHS P-TECH students will be able to:
Earn college credit hours and work toward completion of an Associate degree in one of three distinct areas: Radiologic Technology, Nursing, or Teaching.
Earn nationally recognized industry certifications in Health Science or Education that will be used in their future careers
Engage in mentorships with Health Science or Education professionals through our partnerships with Val Verde Regional Medical Center and San Felipe Del Rio CISD.
Experience hands-on training via clinical rotations at the hospital or field experience in the classroom in order to become more familiar with their future career.
Transition to complete their Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree at the university level, well ahead of their classmates.
