Texas OnCourse Leader Fellow Selected from San Felipe Del Rio CISD
June 18, 2018– SFDRCISD’s Christi Barrera, a CTE Counselor assigned to the Gerardo J. Maldonado Career and Technical Education Center was recently selected as a Texas OnCourse Leader Fellow. She is part of a group of 21 of the top counselors and advisers from across the state who will serve as virtual and in-person resources for educators who advise students on postsecondary planning.
Leader Fellows support the work of Texas OnCourse, a UT Austin-led initiative working to ensure all high school graduates, no matter where they come from or where they’re headed, have a plan for what’s next. Since it started in 2015, Texas OnCourse has emerged as one of the state’s top resources for college and career planning. As Texas’ definitive resource for college and career preparedness, Texas OnCourse equips middle and high school students for postgraduation success. Students discover and prepare for future opportunities with career and college exploration and course-planning tools. Parents and guardians stay on top of vital information and milestones to keep their child on track. And educators connect to professional learning tools and an essential roadmap to guide their students to plan for their own futures. Texas OnCourse is an initiative from The University of Texas at Austin, in partnership with other institutions of higher education, the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Workforce Commission, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
San Felipe Del Rio CISD adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.
The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.10 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $-98.07.
