Santa Fe ISD Incident
May 18, 2018– In September, SFDRCISD adopted Santa Fe ISD (a school district located in the Houston/Galveston area) and assisted the district with providing relief to their families after Hurricane Harvey. Today, we have learned that Santa Fe ISD experienced an incident involving an active shooter earlier this morning.
SFDRCISD is deeply saddened to hear of this devastating news. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are extended to the students, educators, first responders and their families.
Out of an abundance of caution, SFDRCISD has placed our district law enforcement and campus administrators on alert, and will remain constantly vigilant to ensure all emergency management protocols are in place. This includes sharing the information with our local law enforcement agencies including the Del Rio Police Department, Val Verde Sheriff’s Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety and other entities. As an added precaution, these law enforcement agencies will monitor our schools for any suspicious outside activity by driving by our campuses. We are appreciative for the continued support and assistance from our community’s law enforcement agencies.
SFDRCISD continues to remain committed to the safety of its students, staff and property. We ask for your continued support and cooperation; and prayers for our friends in the Santa Fe, Texas community.
San Felipe Del Rio CISD adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.
The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.10 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $-98.07.
