Four San Felipe Del Rio CISD students were hospitalized this day with an undetermined but similar illness. All four students are now alert and recovering. While the cause of their illness has not yet been determined, school officials did determine that the illness was isolated to these four students.
Additionally, school officials cooperated with law enforcement to gather and test candy that was reported to have been obtained at their schools and eaten by these students. The tests found no impurities or reason to believe the candy was associated with this illness. The School District will continue to work with local authorities to investigate this matter.
San Felipe Del Rio CISD adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.
The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.10 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $-98.07.
