The SFDR-CISD Child Nutrition Services Office operates under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).

School Lunch Programs

National School Lunch Program (NSLP) – Grades 9 through 12th

Del Rio Freshman and Del Rio High School campuses will remain on the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) with universal free breakfast and an application process to determine whether a student is eligible for lunch meals for free or at a fraction of the regular cost.  NSLP Applications will be given to parents during their child’s Back-To-School Orientation session or will be available online on the Parent Portal.  These applications are updated annually and area released in the summer for the upcoming year.  We request that parents complete and promptly return this survey to their child’s school office.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program - Pre-K through 8th grade

San Felipe Del Rio CISD is pleased to announce that all Pre-Kindergarten through 8^th grade students are eligible to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program . This means all children attending elementary and middle schools will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost to families regardless of income status. 

 In CEP schools, meal applications are no longer required.  However, the CEP Income Survey will need to be completed and promptly returned to the school’s office at the start of the school year. CEP Income Surveys will be given to parents during their child’s Back-To-School Orientation session. We request that parents complete and promptly return this survey to their child’s school office.

Seamless Summer Option (SSO)

Summer Meal Programs –no cost meals during the summer for students 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years

 SFE Partnership  

San Felipe Del Rio - CISD partners with Southwest Food Excellence (SFE) to enhance their existing Child Nutrition Program. SFE provides healthy delicious options for our students at both breakfast and lunch services. A child's nutrition plays an essential role in learning development every day. Together with SFE, we will offer healthy and nutritious options for our students helping them create a foundation on how to make smart meal-time decision

VENDING POLICY:

Vending machines are not located in areas where reimbursable meals are served and/or consumed by students. Vending machines are not accessible to students at any time during the school day. This does not apply to after school or athletic event concession stands. A district may develop additional guidelines and may be more restrictive than the Texas Public School Nutrition Policy.
