FCCLA Culinary Arts
Del Rio High School FCCLA Culinary Chapter competed at the Family Career and Community Leaders of America State Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas April 6-8, 2017. Eduardo Lopez, Matthew Desjardins, & Estefania Moreno competed in Culinary Arts, Sydney Schell & Reyna Haynes competed in Chapters Service Project Portfolio, and Adriana Vasquez competed in Cupcake Battle. This is the first time Del Rio been represented at the State Conference in Culinary Arts events. Each student put forth their best efforts and are looking forward to next year’s competition. Members took Family and Consumer Science Assessments: Eduardo Lopez, Estefania Moreno, and Adriana Vasquez earned Silver medals, Matthew Desjardins and Sydney Schell earned Bronze medals in their respective exams.
Advisor Chef Adan Cortez stated that all members showed excellent teamwork skills, communication skills, and professionalism in competition. Many event organizers were impressed by their skills. The theme Rise Lead and Succeed inspired members to develop activities for chapter members that have helped many students of all ages.
FCCLA is part of Family and Consumer Science Education and Career and Technical Education.
FCCLA is the ultimate leadership experience.
