This class is an examination of human development across the lifespan with emphasis upon research, theoretical perspectives, and physical, mental, emotional, and social developmental milestones.

Pre-requisite: Human Growth & Development

This is a field-based internship that provides students with background knowledge of child and adolescent development as well as principles of effective teaching and training practices. Students work under the joint direction and supervision of both a teacher with knowledge of early childhood education and exemplary educators or trainers in direct instructional roles at the elementary level.

Pre-requisite: Instructional Practice in Education & Training

This advanced field-based internship class provides students with background knowledge of child and ado-lescent development as well as principles of effective teaching and training practices. Students learn to plan and direct individualized instruction and group activities, prepare instructional materials, assist with record keep-ing, make physical arrangements, and complete other responsibilities of classroom teachers, trainers, parapro-fessionals, or other educational personnel.

This course is designed to introduce learners to the various careers available within the education and training career cluster. Students use self-knowledge and educational and career information to analyze these various careers.

This course will enable students to investigate careers in the human services career cluster including counseling and mental health, early childhood development, family and community, and personal care services.
