Centralized Programs

Centralized Programs Based on Age or Disability

The SFDRCISD offers specialized programs for those students who have been identified with a disability and require support and specialized instruction that is not available on their home campus.  Below is a list of the program along with the campus the child will attend if deemed appropriate in meeting his/her individual unique needs. These services must be determined on an individual basis by the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) committee and must be addressed annually.

Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD): The focus of PPCD is to meet the developmental, social, and academic needs of young children through the use of modified or accommodated curriculum materials. Classrooms focus on the development of language skills. Some students who attend this program move into the general education environment on their home campus, unless they have specific needs which warrant a more specialized program.

Cardwell – Ages 3-5

Life Skills Class: The Life Skills Class meets the developmental needs such as academic, cognition, language, sensory, motor and vocational (when appropriate) through the TEKS Prerequisites and supplemented through the Unique Learning System Curriculum (n2y).
