House Bill 914 Compliance

As of January 1, 2006 under HB 914, school officers (superintendent and board members) are required to file conflict disclosure statements if the school district has contracted with or is considering doing business with a vendor from which the school officer or a family member of the school officer within the first degree of consanguinity or affinity has a business relationship which results in taxable income to the officer or a family member of the officer within the first degree. The bill also mandates that local school officers report gifts from actual vendors or those seeking to become vendors which total more than $250 in a year.
